Lorence, founder of Swisscollecting

Who is Lorence?

My name is Lorenz. Nobody outside Switzerland can quite pronounce it, so most people call me Lorence, or just Swiss. Either works. Lorence is what I go by.

My background is in medicine, with a focus on imaging. That means I bring a genuinely different perspective to collecting: understanding how light, radiation, humidity and storage conditions affect physical collectibles at a level most people in this space don't think about.

I've been active in the graded space since 2019 and deeply involved in collecting communities ever since. Games are my main focus, though the collection spans cards, comics, books, autographs, and memorabilia. Swisscollecting started as an Instagram handle and grew into something bigger. A brand, a community, and a running catalogue of everything worth collecting.

What drives me as much as collecting itself is growing this space. Through education, sharing knowledge, and making grading and authentication accessible to people who are just starting out. There is a lot of gatekeeping in collecting. I would rather break that down than add to it.
